Say NO to Artificial Flowers
Fresh flowers have always been a part of the households in India. Be it the fresh flowers in the temple for the morning prayers, or the once that we so lovingly present each other as a sign of love, care or gratitude, the fragrance of the woven flowers (gajra) has always added to the beauty of the ladies. They are a common decoration item for festivals and special occasions. Flowers hold a very special place in our life.
A bouquet of
flowers kept in a watered vase in a nice warm corner of the house immediately
elevates the mood of the room. The colours and aroma of the flowers can set a
tone to the whole environ giving different hues to the house. We all have
experienced this.
But the truth is in recent times, these lovely natural flowers are being replaced with the artificial paper or plastic flowers. The only excuse for using them is they are long lasting, do not weather or can be reused.
But while the concept of longitivity may look attractive to some, we tend to forget the joy that the presence of real flowers bring to our life. An artificial flower can never give you the smooth touch of the petal, the warmth of the frangrance and the mere joy of being alive. They may dry off and their petals may fall but they will add elegance and grace to all you occasion that none of the non living creations can every bring to life.
This festival
season keep it your motto- “Go all natural”.
Brace the life and banish the artificial
flowers that may last long but also add to the accumulation of pollutants in
our environment. Natural flowers are not only auspicious but also
biodegradable.
